Meet The Team
Dr. Joseph Vaughan | General Dentist
Dr. Vaughan moved to the Greenbrier area in 1995 after earning his dental degree from WVU. He purchased Dr. Bob Caldwell’s practice in 1996 and later acquired Dr. Echol’s practice in 2002. Originally from Los Angeles, Dr. Vaughan relocated to Red House, WV at age 10. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Marshall University.
Dedicated to ongoing education, Dr. Vaughan is certified in oral conscious sedation and dental sleep medicine. He’s an active member of the local Rotary Club, the American Dental Association, Ducks Unlimited, and a local train organization.
Outside the office, he enjoys time with his wife and children, Kara and Evan. His hobbies include gardening, yard work, hunting, fishing, golfing, watching sports, and all things trains.
Dina | Office Manager, BSDH, MS-Registered Dental Hygienist
Dina, Dr. Vaughan’s wife, has worked with him since their marriage in 1997. Originally from Rome, NY, she moved to WV in 1994 to become an assistant professor in Dental Hygiene at WVU. She holds an Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene, a Bachelor’s from WVU, and a Master’s in Community Health Education. Dina is certified in CPR, ACLS, Nitrous Oxide monitoring, local anesthetic administration, laser therapy and is a qualified sedation monitor. She holds permits in general supervision and public health. Dina is a BLS CPR instructor through WVU Shirley Kimble Training Center since 1995.
She served on the West Virginia Board of Dentistry for 10 years, becoming the first female and dental hygienist to serve as President. She is currently an investigator with the Board. Dina also serves on three regional clinical boards, testing dental hygienist on their clinical skills and is a member of the American Dental Hygienists' Association.
Dina enjoys spending time at the lake with her family, traveling, golfing, crafting, cooking, and watching football.
Anna | Finance Manager
Anna joined Dr. Vaughan’s practice in February 2011 with a year of prior dental experience. Originally from Carson City, Nevada, she has had an exciting career as a secretary, working with the Department of Taxation, Vital Statistics, and as Executive Secretary for Nevada Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
Anna and her husband Dion, married since 1985, moved their family to Caldwell, WV in 2009, then returned to Carson City in 2014 for Dion’s job. She has continued working remotely for Dr. Vaughan’s office ever since.
They have three grown children—Krista, Dion, and Tawnya—and two granddaughters, Brylee and the newest addition, Kynlee. In her free time, Anna enjoys crafting, camping, gardening, cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers, spending time with her labs Bodie and Bella, and being with family and friends.
Dee | Dental Assistant
Dee joined Dr. Vaughan’s practice in June of 2008. Dee is certified in dental assistant expanded duties, coronal polishing, nitrous oxide monitoring, CPR, ACLS and sedation monitoring.
She lives in Ronceverte with her husband Brian. They have 2 sons Josh and Sam and 2 grandsons. She loves spending time with family and friends at the lake, riding SXS, and watching the West Virginia Mountaineers.
Sherri | Business Coordinator
Sherri joined the Dr. Vaughan Family Dentistry team in February 2024, bringing her passion for service and warmth to the office every day. Outside of work, she’s deeply involved in her church community, where she finds inspiration and connection. When the warmer months arrive, you’ll find her elbow-deep in landscaping projects, transforming her garden into a beautiful retreat.
In the colder months, she loves curling up with a good book and a hot cup of tea, savoring the peaceful moments. Sherri is also an avid baker constantly experimenting with new recipes and delighting in the art of creating decadent desserts. Above all, she cherishes spending quality time with her family, making memories and sharing laughter.
Crystal | RDH-Registered Dental Hygienist
Crystal joined Dr. Vaughan's practice in June of 2006. She graduated from West Virginia University Institute of Technology with an Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene in May, 2006. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists' Association and while in school she taught oral health education at Page Elementary.
Crystal is originally from Beckley and currently lives in Summers County in the Sandstone area. She is married to Frankie and they have two sons and one daughter, Coen, Frankie and Ava Elise. She enjoys the outdoors with her husband and kids and spends time spoiling her granddaughter, Abby. They like to fish, camp and four wheeling.
Laykan | Dental Assistant
Laykan graduated from Penn Foster College in September 2023 with a focus on Dental Assisting. Afterward, she shadowed local dental offices to expand her knowledge.
She’s certified in CPR/AED, Nitrous Oxide Monitoring, Infection Control, Ionizing Radiation, HIPAA, Laser Safety, and is a sedation qualified monitor.
Her favorite part of dentistry is helping patients feel confident with their smiles. Originally from Hollywood, Monroe County, WV, Laykan now lives in Ronceverte, WV with her fiancé Hunter. In her free time, she enjoys dining at Texas Roadhouse, watching movies, shopping, and spending time with family.
Megan | Dental Assistant
Megan joined Dr. Vaughan’s practice in January of 2025. She is a Certified Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) and is certified in Coronal Polishing, Nitrous Monitoring and CPR. Megan loves spending time outdoors and her hobbies include dirt bike racing, hunting and fishing.
Kara | Marketer
Kara graduated Kent State University in 2023 with a BA in Fashion Design and minors in Art History and Marketing. She completed her Master’s of Science degree in Journalism from WVU in the spring of 2025. Kara is the daughter of Dr. Joseph and Dina Vaughan.
Kara started a marketing business, Kara Marie Copywriting, that serves the Lewisburg and surrounding areas. She also enjoys helping her community through grant writing services.
Kara enjoys outdoor activities like kayaking, hiking, gardening, and spending time on the lake. Some of her hobbies include bible studies, hanging out with friends and fitness.
